My initial reaction to finchy’s work was not positive. I thought that she is a prose writer and maybe poetry is not her thing. But I have read her almost every poem on this board. I think this is one of her better work.

time to light / the dark ness
our house / in the middle of our street
actually / @ the end of a road /
oh geez / it's a bit over whelming
what with all the cars & people who
stop to take pictures / /
down around the corner / is candy cane lane
every good town has one / where the houses
compete / for most garrish / / /
any ways / happy december / soon
solstice will be up on us / & we can turn
our faces back to the sun

Lovely. I love winter- my favorite season.
Its always summer here. I light the fireplace if it goes below 50, which is about twice a year. It is a scientifically proven fact that all south floridians have red water for blood.
