My initial reaction to finchy’s work was not positive. I thought that she is a prose writer and maybe poetry is not her thing. But I have read her almost every poem on this board. I think this is one of her better work.

you were in NC? Where were you here in my fine home state!? I wish I'd known. I don't know why, I've become such an antisocial anxious hermit that I'd have never allowed myself to come meet you. I'd have chickened myself right out. But, I dunno, I still wish I'd known you were here - even if you were somewhere way too far for me to have needed excuses to avoid coming to see you.
I sound like a loon don't I? I am. I've become a complete loon. But I still love you, and I'm glad that NC was honored by your presence.
